Artist in Residence 2011
February 15th - March 4th

Kestle Barton is on the south side of the Helford River in the north of the Lizard, Cornwall.

Lizard Point Lighthouse is owned by Trinity Buoy and in the grounds are 4 large navigational buoys that have been 'put out to graze'. I think they may have come from the old Trinity Buoy Museum in Penzance. There used to be quite a few there; sitting outside by the road. A short film can be viewed below.
The residency allowed me some concentrated time to continue to study these sculptural objects. Initially I made drawings of the buoys down at the lighthouse. I then made 4 large collages (see below) based on these objects.
